Ο Αθηναϊκός αποτελεί από τα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 2000 και μετά μια από τις κορυφαίες γυναικείες ομάδες σε πανελλαδικό επίπεδο. Αποτελεί την πρώτη και μοναδική γυναικεία ομάδα στην ιστορία του αθλήματος στη χώρα που κατέκτησε Triple Crown (Πρωτάθλημα, Κύπελλο και Ευρωπαϊκό Πρωτάθλημα).
Η Ιστορία μας
Επιπροσθέτως, τον Φεβρουάριο του 2012 εισήχθη στο αρχείο των Παγκόσμιων Ρεκόρ Γκίνες ως η ομάδα καλαθοσφαίρισης με το μεγαλύτερο σερί νικών στην ιστορία, καταρρίπτοντας το προηγούμενο ρεκόρ του Πανεπιστημίου του Κονέκτικατ.
